HML stands for Heathyr Marie Lawrence, in addition to that it also stands for Her Majesty Limited, a name given to me by my mom’s boyfriend in the 80’s that has stood the test of time. So, here I am! To be completely honest I had been waiting until I grew up to really use the name, here I am 61 ½ years young finally feeling “grown up” enough. I’ve spent 43 of these years within the glorious fashion industry. Throughout that time I’ve worked with many brands, starting with Vision streetwear, then Maui and Sons, Lucky 13, Demonia, and of course my “baby” Mantrap which I started in 1989 and is still up & running to this day! While I’ve loved my time spent amongst all these brands, I felt such a strong pull to start HML Designs. Mostly because I wanted to make pieces that I felt fit my lifestyle and that I could see myself living in. So, I hope it makes you feel something, happy, a sense of the past, with eyes on the best future ever!
